This female American footballer is teaching the next generation financial literacy through her nonprofit

Santia Deck is the CEO of the one and only female athlete-owned athletic footwear brand, TRONUS. She is also the first female American football player to sign a multi-million dollar contract, and the founder of the non-profit, Perfectly Perfect. Santia aims to use her nonprofit organization to bring about an unprecedented impact in minority communities in the area of financial literacy.

Speaking to The Black Wall Street Times in an exclusive interview, the athlete said, “Our focus is on building the next generation of entrepreneurs, teaching them about financial literacy, and ensuring that these kids are prepared and equipped with the tools for success.”

After observing a low rate of financial literacy in the black community, especially among the youth, Santia was motivated to change the narrative. “We mess up our credit and miss out on significant opportunities,” she explained. “Although I want to concentrate on athletes, there is much more to it than that.”

By giving young people the access they need to own businesses and properties, the non-profit hopes to make a positive impact on underserved communities. Perfectly Perfect works to create a more equitable world where each person has the means and opportunities to realize their full potential by supporting the subsequent generation of business owners and leaders.

The organization also explains that its objective is to empower these communities, support their growth, and ultimately dismantle systemic barriers to pave the way for a better future for all.

Santia has participated in the Women’s Football Alliance (WFA) and the Indoor Football League (IFL) as a professional football player.

At age 4, she started participating in sports, first in tennis, then in basketball and track. She graduated from Texas A&M Kingsville on a full scholarship and played football after graduation.

When asked how she got into football, Santia replied, “It was pretty random.” Sharing her future plans for her sports and entrepreneurship careers, the athlete said, “I want to play for Team USA in flag football for the Olympics, and with my shoe company, I want to be bigger than Nike.” She also aspires to succeed Phil Knight.
