This is how to properly address royalty if you find yourself in these parts of Africa

Kongo

In the Kingdom of Kongo, which covered modern-day Democratic Republic of Congo, and parts of Angola, the king’s title was Mwene Kongo, which translates to ‘owner of the Kongo’. The title was however corrupted to Manikongo by the Portuguese to mean Lord of the Kongo.
