Tomorrow, First Annual Little Malaika International Boys And Girls Cultural Pageant Hits Maryland

Arik Airline has partnered with RACINES Heritage Foundation to become a Diamond Sponsor of the first annual Little Malaika International Boys & Girls Cultural Pageant.  The event aims to showcase cultural heritage and promote multi-cultural exchange among diverse communities. The celebration will take place on Saturday December 17th at 2pm in the auditorium of the Universities at Shady Grove, Rockville.

Arik Air has donated two round trip tickets that will be used to help raise funds and resources to provide scholarships and logistical support for girl’s education and special education for children with autism in Africa.

Contestants are representing various countries including Cameroon, Ethiopia, Ghana, Liberia, Nigeria, Senegal and Spain, to name a few. They will be judged in three categories, personal introduction, talent and traditional wear, as they compete for the title of Princess and Prince Malaika.

Nunu Wako, host of the Nunu Wako Show television program along with Jackson Mvunganyi, host Voice of America’s Up Front, will serve as mistress and master of ceremony.  Celebrity guest for the occasion is Maureen Umeh Fox 5 News anchor/reporter and Honorary Guest His Excellency Ambassador Diabate of the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire.
