Top Pan-African Restaurants in New York City Celebrate African Restaurant Week, April 27-May 4


NEW YORK, NY. (April 1, 2014) – Food lovers, Celebrate – more than a dozen of New York City’s best Pan-African restaurants will partake in the second annual New York African Restaurant Week (NYARW), held on April 27-May 4, 2014.

Following the tremendous success of the inaugural week-long NYARW affair only a year ago, and the acclaim it received from both local and national media, New York City has become one of the hottest destinations for foodies to experience the finest hospitality Africans have to offer. This year’s celebration will offer New Yorkers and visitors an opportunity to partake in the diversity of New York City’s thriving dining scene via a variety of discount and prix-fix three-course meal options.

During the seven-day celebration, participating restaurants will offer prix fixe menus for lunch or dinner –  cost for lunch and dinner will vary across various participating restaurants. Dinner options, diners are eligible for a 10 percent discount off regular menu items when they mention “New York African Restaurant Week” at participating restaurants.

This year’s NYARW also features a food and wine Edible Bazaar party at Suite 36 (16 W. 36th Street, between 5th and 6th Avenues, NYC) from 6:30 p.m. until 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Apr. 29. A variety of African wines and cuisine prepared by Barbara Food Creations, Farafina Cafe & Lounge, Madiba Restaurant, Mombassa Dishes, Panla Catering and Pierre Thiam Catering will be illustrated at the event.
