Uganda’s Ghetto Kids Break the Internet with New Dance Video

They may be from one of the most underprivileged slums in Uganda, but the determination of Uganda’s dancing triplets, Ghetto Kids, to succeed in life is unprecedented. The trio broke the Internet earlier this year with their remarkable dance video featuring Eddy Kenzo’s new song “StyleZo.”

Although the group is well-known for wearing tattered clothes, perhaps to portray their humble backgrounds, they decided to put on fancy suits and dresses for the viral video to indicate that they are now a professional dance group ready to face the world.

The group’s founder, Dauda Kavuma, says their experience in the ghetto inspires them to work even harder.

“We have no regrets about telling a story about this place where you find poor people who have great potential and always wake up hoping someone will listen to them. If given a chance, they can do just as well as those living in the suburbs or even better.”
