Globally, millions of people are dealing with dramatic hair loss, with a recent report claiming that nearly 35 million men and 21 million women have that condition. To help address this issue, a Black entrepreneur founded the Kafune Amor Hair brand.
Shemika Jackson founded the company two years ago and has now caused a sensation with her lace wig system, according to Black News. It is being touted as the first-ever 4-step lace wig system to help women protect their hairline. Jackson has been in the hair and beauty industry for 15 years and was even named by Forbes as one of the entrepreneurs to watch.
According to Madamenoire, Jackson’s 4-Step Lace Wig System “consists of four collections individually created to extend the wearability of your wigs, help you achieve a natural-looking application, securely attach your units and remove them without damaging your wigs, natural hair or scalp.”
Jackson has already recorded $1 million in sales, according to Black News. Currently, she operates the business out of South Jersey.
Venturing in the hair and wig business was inspired by Jackson’s own experience with hair loss. With a strong desire to help others like her, she created a range of products to provide a solution for people with her condition.
Jackson’s current offerings include lace wig, lace wig glue gel, lace wig Melting Spray, and lace wig removal spray. “The newest products added to the solutions from Kafune Hair are 360 lace wigs of different lengths and sizes and the most popular, Hide Out Lace Tint Mousse & the Melt Me Down Lace Melting Spray,” Black News reported.
Apart from her hair care products, Jackson also educates people about alopecia, how to care for their hair and apply wigs, among others on her company’s site.
