The past weekend in South Africa was definitely an eventful and memorable one thanks to the Global Citizen Festival.
The event saw some of our favourite celebrities and superstars congregating to celebrate Nelson Mandela’s 100th birthday as well as help raise funds to support poverty-stricken people across the world.
Among those participating in the weekend’s festivities was the ever funny Trevor Noah, who could not resist the opportunity of going back to his home country to host it.
The Johannesburg-born comedian, during his stay, managed to take some time off to visit his 91-year old grandmother in Soweto.
Affectionately calling her Koko, The Daily Show host had a very funny but educative conversation with her touching on several issues including his childhood, apartheid as well as Madiba’s legacy. The highlight of their conversation, however, was when Noah asked why she does not watch his show to which she gave a rather “understandable” reason.
