Controversial rapper, producer and fashion designer Kanye West has disclosed that he will vote for Donald Trump in 2020. “I’m definitely voting this time. And we know who I’m voting on. And I’m not going to be told by the people around me and the people that have their agenda that my career is going to be over. Because guess what: I’m still here, Jesus Is King was No. 1!” he told GQ in an interview.
“I was told my career would end if I wasn’t with Her [Hillary Clinton]. What kind of campaign is that, anyway? That’s like if Obama’s campaign was ‘I’m with black.’ What’s the point of being a celebrity if you can’t have an opinion? Everybody make their own opinion! You know?”
West’s support for Trump has hit an all-time high. “I buy real estate. It’s better now than when Obama was in office. They don’t teach you in school about buying property. They teach you how to become somebody’s property,” he said.
West had received a strong backlash from the black community for being a ‘Make America Great Again’ disciple to racial profiling. “I’m a Black guy with a red [MAGA] hat, can you imagine?” West stated. “It reminded me of how I felt as a Black guy before I was famous when I would walk in a restaurant and people would look at you like you were going to steal something. ‘This is your place, Ye, don’t talk about apparel. This is your place, Ye, you’re black, so you’re a Democrat,’” he told WSJ.
The Yeezy CEO, in a separate interview last October, spoke about how he was free from the clutches of the Democratic Party following his acceptance of Jesus.
Speaking with veteran Los Angeles radio and morning show host Big Boy, West accused the Democratic Party of brainwashing the black community into patronizing abortion.
“We’re brainwashed out here, bro,” said West. “Come on, man. This is a free man talking. Democrats had us voting Democrats with food stamps for years. What are you talking about? Guns in the 80s, taking the fathers out the home, Plan B, lowering our votes, making us abort our children…Thou shall not kill.”
During his popular music-themed and quasi-religious Sunday Service in Salt Lake City, Utah, last year, West defended his bromance with Trump, stating that making a decision based on one’s skin color is mental slavery.
“They try to tell me because of my color who I’m supposed to pick as the president,” said West in one of the videos that went viral after the program.
He called voting based on skin color “mental slavery” and said he liked the fact Trump was a polarizing outsider, like him.
