What to Wear: Africa Fashion Week, New York

Hey Afrishionistas!

Fashion Weeks around the world have come and gone, and Africa’s time to shine in New York is fast approaching! You can expect to see collections by Korto Momolu, Bill Witherspoon, and Darryl Jagga.

If you are thinking about attending some of the shows, events and mixers, here are some suggestions on what to wear.

In the summer, bright and flowy ensembles will help you go about your day without breaking a sweat.

• Yellow looks great on various skin tones, and will surely bring out your summer glow:

 

• White– As we talked about in THIS POST, white is a hot trend this season. Look crisp and poised in something like this

• Tribal inspired prints are back in full force and now would be a prime time to try it out.

Remember those killer heels you bought a while back, but couldn’t find an appropriate place to wear them to? Now’s your chance! Bring out your platforms and elevated wedges and strut your stuff!
