Valerie Thomas
Valerie Thomas is an African-American scientist and inventor known for inventing the illusion transmitter and her work with NASA. She graduated with a degree in Chemistry from Morgan State University. She moved on to become a data analyst at NASA where she helped manage the development of image-processing systems for LANDSAT, the first satellite to send images from space. In 1977, Thomas started experiments on illusion transmitter, a device producing illusion images through concave mirrors. She also contributed to inventions in satellite technology.
