2011 Miss Ghana USA Confirms Contestants, Guests Of Honor, Performers, and More.

Gloria Opare, the Founder and President of the Miss Ghana USA Pageant has officially announced the first annual beauty pageant set to be held Saturday evening July 9, 2011 at the Eisemann Center, 2351 Performance Drive in Richardson, Texas.

The Miss Ghana USA Organization is pleased to bring to the public a platform of highly educated women who will showcase their poise, talent, intellect, beauty, personality, and more.

Ms Opare states that their aim was to bring together young Ghanaian women from across the USA, who are interested in serving an adopted community within the US, and also to serve in their Ghanaian country of 10 regions. Each woman represents one region.

"We spoke to many applicants and thosewith a passion to serve others are the ones we chose as contestants.  During the pageant and prior to the final judging each young lady is expected to describe their proposed year of service activities in both Ghana and America, if crowned the Queen of Miss Ghana USA," said Ms. Opare.

The contestants represent the following regions of Ghana:

  • Akua A Agyeman (Western Region)
  • Michelle Amoah (Central Region)
  • Pearl Owusu Ansah (Greater Accra Region)
  • Eugenia Asante (Upper East Region)
  • Mienever Kugblenya (Eastern Region)
  • Lucia Naa-Adjekai (Ashanti Region)
  • Naa Odey Oku (Upper West Region)
  • Ellen Osei (Volta Region )
  • Nanafrema Osei (Brong Ahafo Region)
  • Priscilla Takyi (Northern Region)

There will be four (4) judges who will have dinner with all the contestants the day before the show.  At that time they will have an opportunity to interact with the ladies and see how they present themselves. The public also has the opportunity to choose who they think should win Miss Photogenic and the People’s Choice Award.   Interested persons should go online to http://www.missghanausa.org where they can register, then cast a vote for their favorite contestant. A contestant’s total votes are worth 20% of their final score.

Kweku Dela, a well-known TV personality, will co-host the pageant along with Naa Adjeley, a Ghanaian musical artist. There will also be performances from both Ghanaian and Nigerian artists, including one of Ghana’s favorite hip life artists, Nana Boroo, and one of Nigeria’s best artists, Michael Ojogbo (aka SOJ). Special guest Mzbel is also scheduled to appear.

The Miss Ghana USA Pageant is sponsored by G2E Creative, Face2Face Africa, Penthouse Productions, Kachi Designs, June Light Enterprise, and JQ Productions.  However, we are still in search of a generous sponsor to donate an academic scholarship for the pageant winner.   In return the donor will benefit from being marketed by the Miss Ghana USA Pageant organization.    Please contact us via our website if you are interested in becoming a sponsor.

We selected the Eisemann Center because of its elegant style, and their “Bank of America Hall” is the perfect size venue for our inaugural pageant. We are excited that the buzz about Miss Ghana USA is exceeding everyone’s expectations.    We were hoping to attract about 300 attendees, but ticket sales to date indicate that the venue may be filled to capacity!

The Saturday Pageant will climax with the crowning of the Miss Ghana USA Queen between 7:00- 10:00pm. Red Carpet photos may be taken from 4:30 – 6:30pm.   Tickets are available for purchase online at http://www.eisemanncenter.com/tickets/calendar/view.asp?id=2122 or may be bought the day of the event at the Eisemann Center Box Office.

We invite everyone to come out and enjoy a beautiful evening as the next Miss Ghana USA is crowned.  See you there!
