Face2Face Africa hosted its much anticipated 8th annual Pan-African Weekend in New York City from Thursday, July 18, to Sunday, July 21.
The kick-off event of the weekend, the Pan-African Women Forum held on Thursday, July 18, brought together influential, trailblazing female professionals of African descent who spoke about their life experiences, journeys and how they are changing the global narrative on women. The forum also provided the platform for attendees to engage and network with the speakers.
Moderated by Ayesha K. Faines (Writer & Speaker at Women Love Power) this year’s speakers were Sophie Chandauka (Global COO – Shared Services and Banking Operations, Morgan Stanley), Mary Spio (Deep Space Engineer, CEEK Virtual Reality INC. Founder & CEO), Dr. Gina Paige (Co-Founder & President, African Ancestry, Inc.) and Chinwe Esimai (Managing Director & Chief Anti-Bribery Officer, Citi).
The Day-2 event of the Pan-African Weekend, the IAAPA Networking Mixer, was held the next day (Friday, July 19). The mixer provided the platform for attendees to interact, network and build meaningful and lasting connections with like-minded pan-African professionals over cocktails and music.
The flagship event of the weekend, the star-studded FACE List Awards also took place on Saturday, July 20, at The Edison Ballroom. A very memorable night, the awards gala honored co-founder of social enterprise Studio 189, Abrima Erwiah with the Impact in Fashion Award, Haitian-born actor and humanitarian Jimmy Jean-Louis with the Impact in Entertainment Award, founder of billion-dollar oil company Springfield Energy, Kevin Okyere with the Entrepreneurship Award, Managing Director at Morgan Stanley, Peter Akwaboah with the Corporate Leadership Award and influential tech entrepreneur Rebecca Enonchong with the Impact in Tech Award.

The closing event of the weekend, the Ankara Jazz Brunch, took place on Sunday, July 21, with Chase, Lordus and NanaBcool each taking turns to entertain guests with exhilarating performances.
