Koffi Olomide, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC)
Antoine Christophie Agbepa Mumba, who is professionally known as Koffi Olomide, was born in 1956 in Kisangani, DRC. He started singing in the 1970s in Congolese singer and musician Papa Wemba’s band, Viva La Musica, where he performed as a lead vocalist. He eventually formed his own band named Quartier Latin International. Some of his albums include Affaire D’Etat, Haut de Gamme: Koweit, Rive Gauche, Abracadabra, and Ultimatum.
