As part of its very popular series, “MTV Base Meets ….,” MTV Base met with Nigerian billionaire, Aliko Dangote. The 54 year old Aliko Dangote is the richest man in Africa, the richest black billionaire in the world, and the 76th richest man in the world according to Forbes. He has major stakes in Nigeria’s cement, sugar and flour industry and the growth of his company in other African countries. Currently, it is reported that Dangote is set to invest very heavily in Nigeria’s very shaky power sector in a bid to bring it up to standard.
With so much to learn from the billionaire, it is no surprise that MTV Base decided to meet with Dangote. As is usual practice for the series, the MTV Base host was accompanied by 4 young Africans from various African countries and in different professional fields.
Dangote shared his tips for success, talked about his taste in music, and revealed the most expensive “toy” he has ever bought. The bottom line of the billionaire’s musings? Success is achieved through hard work and determination (which he shows by maintaining a grueling 18 hours a day work schedule on week days) and the firm belief that nothing is impossible.
