4. African Pygmies
The African Pygmies are in Central Africa, specifically in the Congo Basin and as of 2016, they were about 900,000 in population. They are over 100,000 years old and due to their varying subtribes; their languages vary by specific tribes.
They are petite in nature and said to be descendants of the earliest humans with their DNA markers very close to the oldest known group of ancestors.
Their unique trait is, their growth pattern differs slightly from the average human. Pygmies are born with the normal human size but have stunted growth in early childhood. It has been proven by research that their stunted growth isn’t as a result of malnutrition or their environment but it’s a gene trait.
