Beyonce and Jay Z roll with white gods in new epic music video ‘Apeshit’ [WATCH]

The deceit, quarrels and controversies have obviously made the power couple Beyonce and Jay Z much stronger. The legends exhibited a renewed bond in their first-ever joint album Everything Is Love released on Saturday evening.

The nine-song album follows the near dissolution of their marriage which was evident in Beyonce’s Lemonade album on self-worth released in 2016 and Jay Z’s 4:44 album of 2017 in which he acknowledged cheating on his wife.

“This is your final warning, you know I give you life / If you try that shit again, you gon’ lose your wife.” — Beyoncé, “Don’t Hurt Yourself (Lemonade)

“I apologize, often womanized / Took for my child to be born to see through a woman’s eyes.” — Jay-Z, “4:44

Everything Is Love was released under the duo name, The Carters, with a video for the second track ‘Apeshit’ which was shot inside the largest art museum in the world, the Louvre Palace in Paris, France.

The Louvre has a collection of historic art masterpieces and no one person has had solitary access to the whole palace like The Caters who shot the video with famous paintings and artworks like the Mona Lisa; Venus de Milo; Consecration of Emperor Napoleon and Coronation of Empress Josephine; and the Winged Victory of Samothrace.

They also took shots in front of Nike, the Greek goddess of victory; the Great Sphinx of Tanis with shots of the museum’s exterior and the ceiling in the Apollo Gallery among others. All the artwork was white-themed except one: Marie-Guilhelmine Benoist’s 1800 “Portrait of a Negress” which ended the video.

The video is beyond ordinary as everything from cinematography, fashion, lyrics and movements told a story. Beyonce wore pantsuits like her husband showing the power she wields next to her man – a queen, a boss, a strong woman.

Beyonce owned the song and rapped throughout most of the verses with her husband playing the supporting role. They also threw shades at the Grammys and the NFL with a flash of young black men taking a knee.

Everything Is Love features an all-star cast including Offset and Quavo from Migos as well as Pharrell who also produced and wrote the song with Beyonce and Jay Z.

The video was directed by Ricky Saiz and was produced by Iconoclast. The styling was done by Beyonce and Jay Z’s personal stylists Zerina Akers and June Ambrose respectively while Belgian dancer Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui choreographed the video together with JaQuel Knight and Chris Grant.
