3. Jollof Rice
Rice is the No. 1 staple food in Nigeria. This wasn’t always the case (a matter for another day), but now nearly every Nigerian eats rice at least once every day. For a country with a population of nearly 200 million people, that translates to hundreds of thousands of tons eaten every day. Well if you think that is a lot of rice, wait until Christmas Day, when so much rice is served and eaten, you wonder where all that grain came from.
In a country where the citizens playfully pledge their allegiance to Jollof rice, culinary experts have managed to come up with more than 100 ways to cook and prepare rice, making sure there is hardly any chance of getting fed up with it.
