Jennifer, the daughter of Microsoft-cofounder Bill Gates, has got engaged to her Egyptian partner, Nayel Nassar.
The 23-year-old daughter of Bill and Melinda Gates announced this on Wednesday, saying that she is getting married to the Egyptian showjumper.
In an Instagram post, she wrote: “Nayel Nassar, you are one of a kind,’ Jennifer wrote on Instagram.
“Absolutely swept me off my feet this past weekend, surprising me in the most meaningful location over one of our many shared passions. I can’t wait to spend the rest of our lives learning, growing, laughing and loving together. Yes a million times over. AHHH!!!”
The two have been dating since 2017 and they both love show jumping.
From the picture Jennifer posted to her Instagram account, it appears their engagement happened while on a skiing trip.
Jennifer can also be seen wearing a large diamond ring in the heartwarming photo taken in the snow.
Born in Medina, Washington, the eldest daughter of Gates recently completed a biology degree at Stanford University.
Now a med student, she spends time away from studies on horseback or with Nassar, with whom she travels around the world.
28-year-old Nassar was raised in Kuwait and studied at Stanford University with a degree in management and economics.
The well-known showjumper could not also hide his excitement about his engagement with Jennifer.
He posted photos of the special moment on his own Instagram account.
“SHE SAID YES!!”, he wrote.
“I’m feeling like the luckiest (and happiest) man in the world right about now,’ he wrote. “Jenn, you are everything I could have possibly imagined..and so much more. I can’t wait to keep growing together through this journey called life, and I simply can’t imagine mine without you anymore. Love you more than you can possibly imagine, and thank you for making every single day feel like a dream to me. Here’s to forever!”
Jennifer replied: “Yep crying again its fine life is perfect rn you’re everything to me.”
At the moment, it is unknown when the two plan to tie the knot.
Jennifer’s parents, Bill and Melinda Gates, through their Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, have been providing funding for various developmental initiatives in Africa, including women and girl-child initiatives.
Gates, who is the co-founder of the Foundation, recently pointed out that his relationship with Africa’s richest man Aliko Dangote has enabled him to make inroads with his projects in Africa.
