Lal Daggy
The Kenyan deaf artist discovered his love for music while in secondary school. There, he won several music competitions and began following the works of artists like Lil Wayne and Snoop Dogg.
Today, Daggy is shattering ceilings for people with disabilities and was recently recognized by Kenyan president Uhuru Kenyatta who “lauded Daggy for looking past his disability and setting an example of hard work and self-belief to young people.”
Having over six singles to his name, Daggy’s break came after the release of his hit song ‘Story ya Machampion’ (The story of champions) where he tells the world his journey of courage. The song, released in 2013, featured heavyweight Nonini, who took the lyrics and voiced them. Daggy continues to bridge the gap between the deaf and the hearing in Kenya with his music.
