F2FA Fashion Feature: Liya Kebede Is New Face of L’Oreal Paris

Ethiopian model, Liya Kebede, has been signed as the new face of cosmetics company, L’Oreal Paris.

Liya now follows the footsteps of famous female fashionistas like Jennifer Lopez, Beyonce Knowles, Kerry Washington, Aishwarya Rai, Eva Longoria, and Gwen Stefani.

In a official statement, Liya, who is also the star of Waris Dirie's biopic, "Desert Flower," emphasized her excitement for working with the successful brand as a woman of color. She stated:

“It is important for me that I represent a brand that reflects my personality. I'm pleased to play a part in sharing the uniqueness, the charisma, and the incredible stories of women of all origins and from all regions of the world.”

This 33 year-old New Yorker is also creative director of Ethiopian made clothing line, Lem Lem. She has, in the past, been the brand ambassador for various successful beauty, accessories and fashion labels such as Tiffany’s & Co, H&M, J. Crew, and Estee Lauder.
