Face2Face Africa launches 30 Black Stars initiative to recognize outstanding business achievers in the US

Face2face Africa is proud to introduce the launch of a new initiative that aims to help advance diversity & inclusion in America.

The annual initiative, called 30 Black Stars, will identify and recognize outstanding business and professional achievers of African descent who have distinguished themselves in the business world and are paving a way for other minorities through a commitment to excellence and dedication.

“African-Americans and immigrants from Africa and the Caribbean are making an impact in corporate America now more than ever, and it is important to recognize their influence in business and on the economy at large,” said Sandra A. Babu-Boateng, CEO of Face2face Africa.

“We hope that through this initiative we can help drive a new narrative around the importance of diversity & inclusion, and help companies truly harness its power for business transformation, innovation, and global competitiveness.”

Each year, 30 outstanding business leaders from various industries such as finance, tech, healthcare, media, law, entrepreneurship, public service, non-profit and more will be selected and honored at the 30 Black Stars awards gala in Houston, Texas.

Nominations are free and open to the public and the winners will be selected by a committee established by Face2face Africa.

Individuals may nominate themselves or someone they know, and companies or organizations are strongly encouraged to nominate their outstanding employees and business leaders.

In addition to the awards gala, there will be a diversity conference designed to facilitate empowering discussions around diversity and inclusion and advancing the leadership pipeline for minority professionals.

The forum will examine what companies are currently doing to enhance diversity & inclusion, empower professionals with the tools and resources they need to increase their capacity, and explore how businesses can harness the strengths and full potential of professionals within ethnic communities.
