Aaron Bullock, a native of Detroit, discovered his passion for the music industry at a young age. By the time he was 17, he was deeply involved in the music business, working as an executive and making a name for himself.
After gaining valuable experience in the music industry, Bullock decided to explore new horizons and shifted his focus to the world of film and television. His talent and expertise landed him a prestigious role as a producer at Paramount Pictures, where he contributed to various projects and left a lasting impact.
Despite finding success in the entertainment industry, Bullock felt a calling towards a different field that resonated with his innate interest in health and medicine. So in 2008, Bullock took a leap of faith and launched Evolution Holistic Healthcare. His chiropractic clinic combined the best of Eastern and alternative practices with Western medicine, providing a unique approach to healthcare.
However, in 2015, Bullock made the difficult decision to close the clinic. The healthcare landscape had become increasingly tumultuous, making it challenging to sustain the business. After closing Evolution Holistic Healthcare, Bullock felt “stressed” and considered leaving the country.
A chance meeting with Chef Ian Martin led to the idea of creating healthy food for retail, which resulted in Misha’s, a plant-based, dairy-alternative company. They started in a small kitchen, serving customers at farmer’s markets and grocery stores.
By 2021, Misha’s had raised $3 million in seed funding with the help of Chris Paul, Lisa Shamus & Partners, and Jay-Z’s Marcy Venture Partners Fund II LP, according to Food Business News.
Misha’s made a significant breakthrough by launching its products at Walmart stores in California, Utah, Nevada, Washington, Arizona, and Texas earlier this year. This marked the brand’s official entry into conventional grocery retail chains, as their products were previously only available in select regions at natural food markets and specialty stores. At the moment, the brand can be found in 818 Walmart stores across 13 states.
Misha’s also currently offers a range of seven vegan cheeses that are all grain-free, ketogenic, Kosher Pareve, and free of starches, fillers, vegetable oils, nutritional yeast, and soy, VegNews reported.
