Four things we learned from Barack Obama’s fiery 2020 DNC speech

Former President Barack Obama took the gloves off on Wednesday night when he addressed the country at the virtual Democratic National Convention (DNC), laying particularly into his predecessor in the White House.

Obama described the Trump administration as a failure that was led by a man who treated the presidency as “one more reality show”. He added that President Donald Trump “hasn’t grown into the job because he can’t”.

But as much as Obama’s jabs were perhaps expected, they revealed hidden fears that the former president had masked with a cloth of respectability and deference to Trump.

Here are four things we learned as he made the case for Joe Biden in 19-minute speech:
