Get to Know Wondaboy Casey: A Rising Star

Wondaboy Casey was born Blessed Edewor in Delta State, Nigeria. His talent in music was displayed at an early age as he sang and played drums at his local church.

His love for music led him to the Star Quest music reality show (which is conceived by Nigerian Breweries PLC), in 2008. This was the beginning of his professional music career when the band he is lead singer of (Diamondz Band), was crowned the winners of the competition for that year.

Shortly after their big win, Diamondz Band began an extensive touring schedule in 2008 around Nigeria. They performed at Star Trek music concerts and Star Mega Jam. The band released their first album ‘Omo Naija’ in 2009 under Kennis Music. The band continues to perform at public and private gigs around the country. They are known for their flair and talent of covering popular Nigerian songs as well as also performing their own material.

Wondaboy Casey always loved to perform and as his career with Diamondz continues, he has been able to grow musically by honing his own sound. He currently works with producer Ifiok Effanga, AKA Fiokee, who he met in 2006.

In March 2011, Casey and Ifiok began work on a track titled "I Really Don’t Care" in addition to other club hits such as "Down Low" & "Mo Gbona". These tracks are just a few of many tracks being released as Wondaboy Casey’s solo project is conceived and perfected. With the upcoming solo project, Casey is able to explore his vocal abilities and song writing skills outside of headlining the band as a lead singer. He maintains his true artist stance by writing songs that people can not only enjoy, but relate to as well.

Currently, Casey has been able to successfully release and promote his music through social media and online music mediums. Due to his successful efforts, his tracks are getting attention from music fans and music professionals in Nigeria, South Africa, Russia, the UK and Holland.
