How this 11-year-old day trader fought bullies to make $10,000 on the stock market

At the age of eight, Christon “The Truth” Jones was already a self-starting entrepreneur, having authored his first book that delivers a strong message on faith and bullying in youth sports.

As a student-athlete, Christon had faced bullying from his team members, nearly shattering his dreams of playing football. But with his faith in God, the strong bond he shares with his mother, and the readiness to look within himself, he was willing to succeed at all cost. This is what inspired his book The Win Within to give hope and encouragement to other children in a similar situation.

Within 90 days of peddling his book door to door, the young genius made over $5000 and by the age of 10, he had already become an international bestselling author, having an online mastermind course – Truth Success Series, that includes young people and adults who would want to tap into his wisdom.

Soon, the 10-year-old from Mississippi grabbed national and international headlines, with invitations to address audiences globally and with nominations in techpreneurship programmes.

Then his success story began: in that same year, home-schooled Christon and his mother got hold of a story of a 14-year old investor who made $50,000 off the stock market. Fully inspired by this, Christon and his mother took investment courses and soon, he began day-trading in stocks, making as much as $10,000 within a few months.

“It’s much more fun to buy stuff when you know you own part of the company so I like to splurge on X-Box games and of course Amazon is my first choice when my mom has to order stuff,” he was quoted by Real Estate Investor Summit.

The much sought-after speaker who has given numerous interviews with major media outlets is passionate about speaking to urban youth and former athletes on how to make money investing. His mission is to help 1000 people become successful, and he does this one stock at a time.

“Microsoft usually comes out with a new game system in November so you should buy the stock in September so you can buy low and sell high,” one of the business tips he shared with Fox News in an interview this June.

Voted by teachers as the best mathematician, the young prodigy is otherwise known as “The Truth”, a name that is directly linked with his business philosophy. That name explains more about the secret to his success.

T – Tap 20 companies that you really like. Be sure to choose companies in which you already buy their stuff.

R – Research these companies and find everything you can. Read AND watch the news.

U – Understand the company’s historical data. How has it been performing in the past? There could be key indicators to predict its future performance.

T – Trade AFTER closing. Day trading can be an emotional roller coaster. Sleep on it and trade the next day.

H – Have an entry & exit strategy. Know what your bottom line numbers are, to determine when you will buy the stock and when you have hit your profit number so you get out. And stick to it!

Christon is one of the many astounding children who have broken the status quo and achieved the unthinkable, creating successful businesses. Mikaila Ulmer is a 14-year-old founder and CEO of Me & the Bees Lemonade based in Austin, Texas, U.S. who has also mentioned writing a children’s book on how to start and grow a business.

Mr Cory’s Cookies, popular Yummy Cookie company in New Jersey was also started by a six-year-old boy in the form of hot cocoa on the streets but is now a household name.

Toil and Trouble Bath, a business that offers artisanal bath soaps on the streets of New Mexico was founded by Donovan Tyee, a former homeless boy who makes his cupcake-shaped soap using aloe vera and goat milk.
It has since become a big business and the 15-year-old donates about 20 per cent of sales from his products to charity.

Meanwhile, Christon has hinted of organising his own kids-only business conference next year to share his knowledge and experience about the need to invest while young.
