‘I’m gonna take you out first’ – White man arrested for pointing a gun at black motorcyclists

A white man in Virginia has been arrested after a video surfaced with him pointing an AR-15 at four unarmed motorcyclists who made a stop near his home. According to the bikers, they made a pit stop at the cul-de-sac in Spotsylvania to come to a consensus on their route home last Sunday.

They were surprised when the white local approached them armed and was caught on camera pointing the rifle at them for about five minutes.

Dennis Lee Berry, whose home the bikers had parked close to came out of his home and warned the bikers: “I’m gonna take you out first.” They, however, pleaded with him to lower the weapon, NY Post reported.

Berry then went on to say he had called the police on them for trespassing on his private property, as he deliberately ignored their reasons for stopping near his home because they had missed the signs.

“Evidently you didn’t look hard enough,” he told them, adding, “I hope y’all gonna get arrested.”

One of the four motorcyclists also called the police and is heard in the video saying, “parked my bike over here to take a break real quick, got a white guy out here pointing a gun at four black men.”

“We’re unarmed, I’m on the phone with the cops — and you’re still pointing a gun,” another cyclist was heard addressing Berry while they were interacting with the police.

The Spotsylvania Sheriff’s Office said in a statement that Berry was later arrested for brandishing a firearm and subsequently taken to the Magistrate’s Office where he got released on a $5,000 unsecured bond.

It is not clear if the AR-15 Berry aimed at the motorcyclists was loaded at the time of the incident, but the Sheriff’s department has seized the rifle as evidence for the case.

According to the Spotsylvania Sheriff’s Office, the bikers’ pit stop was as a matter of fact in a private neighborhood. They, however, went on to acknowledge that the four motorcyclists did not see a “No Trespassing” sign before they stopped.

The police say it is unclear if the bikers were on Berry’s property, but he did approach them from his property. One of the bikers, Brandon Foster, said Berry had “weapon aimed at us the entire time”.

“Be careful out there. It’s a crazy world we live in,” Foster said as he posted a video of the exchange on social media.
