For their important roles in the development of Africa, several African leaders are constantly celebrated in one way or the other to help keep their names at the forefront of African history.

While countries in Africa put in considerable effort to make the legacies of their heroes stay relevant in one way or the other, the efforts and hard work of these leaders have also been duly recognized by several international bodies and western countries.

Several western countries and organisations have felt the impact of prominent African leaders who even years after their death cannot go without being mentioned. Here are a few African leaders who have had international stamps by international organisations and western countries in their honour.

Elizabeth Ofosuah Johnson

Elizabeth Johnson is a Ghanaian –Nigerian avid reader and lover of the Creative Arts. She is also a writer and has worked with various online platforms as an editor and content creator. She also produces a literary radio show and has worked as a festival administrator. Her story was featured in the 2017 Independence anthology by Afridiaspora. Her play has been staged by African Theater Workshop and she is the 2018 winner of the Random Thoughts writing Prize.
