Jamaicans support honest mother who’s facing abuse for returning millions of dollars found at ATM

Ackasiha Green, a 24-year-old Jamaican and mother of two found a stash of cash in a bag last week at an ATM in East Queen Street, Kingston. Her first reaction after seeing money reported to be worth millions of dollars was to hand it over to two policemen she met just outside the ATM.

Her story made waves after she granted an interview explaining that she preferred to be honest although she was in dying need of such money. The missing bag was picked up by an armoured truck bearer who had apparently forgotten the bag of money at the ATM.

Ackasiha Green, who faces serious financial challenges and is interested in attending HEART Trust/NTA  for a housekeeping course, has been applauded by several Jamaicans except for her mother who called her daughter the most stupid of all her children who even borrows money from her.

Whatever her mother thinks is all now behind her and doesn’t make any difference as her good deed has paid off faster than expected. A few days after Miss Green’s example of honesty went viral, she has received several gifts from Jamaicans both in and outside of the country who prefer to remain anonymous in cash and kind. She has also signed an Ambassadorial deal with HEART Trust/NTA, the agency where she will attend school and act as its face.

Director of the agency Rayharna Wright said her role as Ambassador will include speaking to people under training about good morals and ethics.

Although nothing has come from her mother’s camp after the successful turn of events, a happy Miss Green who continues to thank everyone believes her life is changing for the better.
