Check Out a Like Minded People NYC Event This Year!

Like Minded People New York City (LMPNYC) is a network that believes in building a support system, where diverse talent creates a sustainable community that brings great people together to realize our full potential.

LMPNYC will host a NUMBER of events this year, including:

  • Networking Mixer

Our professional mixer is scheduled for Thursday, April 20, at W Hotel at 6 p.m. Its purpose is to create an outstanding platform for New Yorkers to network.

  • Art Exhibition

Our first event this year took place on February 18th (pictured) at the Uzuri Art Exhibit at La Maison d’Art in Harlem. It attracted between 100 and 150 people, and even though it was free to the public, we raised about $600 in donations from our guests. We are planning another art exhibition this June so please follow us for updated information on Instagram: @lmpnyc1 or e-mail: LMPNYC1@gmail.com.

  • African Cup

On Sunday, June 25th, Like Minded People is organizing the second African Cup of New York City at Mullaly Park in the Bronx. Last year, six teams participated, including Team Argentina, Team Chad (pictured), Team Colombia, Team Liberia, Team Nigeria, and Team United States.

While it was a one-day event last year, this year’s tournament will run until September 2017 due to its success.

  • Akwaaba Picnic

The Akwaaba Picnic at Fort Greene Park in Brooklyn is the second of its kind and will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 8th. Our first one (pictured) drew more than 100 attendees who had an amazing time with us with great food, drinks, music, and an unparalleled ambiance.

Therefore, we decided to make it an annual event and are now looking for sponsors for this year’s picnic, which will be held in the same place. We hope that potential sponsors see our vision and can contribute in whatever capacity possible.

Our sponsor will have the opportunity to speak to our guests and their company/business will be promoted on all of our social media platforms and by our partners, including BronxNet TV and Face2Face Africa.

  • Comedy Jam

LMPNYC hopes to see you soon!
