Meet the five youngest women to hold parliamentary positions in Africa

African youths are showing resilience and determination to excel in different fields despite the many challenges and barriers plaguing the continent and limiting their chances of success, unlike their counterparts in advanced countries.

Sports, technology, and governance are just a few areas where African youths are recording sterling achievements. More so, African women are picking up the gauntlet and breaking some of the unhealthy cultural and religious barriers that have over the years fettered the women-folk in the continent. The likes of Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, Chimamanda Adichie, Carmen Maria de Araújo Periera, and Sylvie Kinigi are some of the amazons redefining the space of women in Africa.
