On Sunday, Guardia Civil Police reportedly became suspicious of the Mercedes 300, once they discovered that its license plates carried false numbers.
Authorities soon apprehended both the driver and passenger of the vehicle, who are Moroccan; however, upon closer inspection, they found one man hiding behind the engine (pictured top) and another behind the back seat (pictured).
The men, identified only as “TD and AB from Guinea Conakry,” had been transported from Morocco.
And while authorities are not clear how long the men were hiding and ingesting toxic fumes, both men reportedly required oxygen.
In May, the curious case of 8-year-old Ivorian Adou Ouattara made headlines, when he was discovered in a suitcase as he attempted to meet his father in Gran Canaria.
Ouattara was later reunited with his mother in June.
By July, a Morrocan man attempted the same feat as Ouattara, with his brother transporting him in the boot of his car, but tragically suffocated inside his suitcase.
According to Human Rights Watch, just in 2013 alone, at least 4,300 people have entered Ceuta and Melilla, a second Spanish city popular with migrants, illegally.
And the numbers continue to increase.
