New gifting and all-purpose payments platform launched in Ghana

A new gifting and all-purpose payments platform, Prime e-gift and Prime pay, has been launched in Ghana

The platform was developed by JACKBUILD, a wholly-owned Ghanaian company that is driven by innovation, technology and proprietary design to deliver powerful products, services and experiences to users.

The Prime e-gift app, which can be downloaded on both the Google Playstore and iOs, offers the convenience of trading for both merchants and users.

With a sleek and modern interface which guarantees a lot of flexibility, it presents an alternative way to send and receive gifts end-to-end.

Gift cards are prepaid cards that can be redeemed at any of our registered merchants’ locations.

The developers say the Prime e-gift was introduced to empower users to give and redeem gift cards while helping businesses to increase revenue, acquire new consumers, and obtain additional brand recognition.

“We have our e-gift cards that are universal cards that can be redeemed at any Prime e-gift card merchant participation shop. We have values from GHS50 (around $8) – GHS2500 (around $400),” the company says.

“Our Merchant branded gift cards are redeemable at the merchant locations. So whether you are looking for a perfect gift solution for the Christmas, Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Birthday, Staff or client appreciation, Giveaways, Baby Shower, Engagement and Wedding Anniversary, we’ve got you covered.”

Prime e-gift allows merchants to sign up for free for now as a special offer, a signup fee will be introduced next year (2022).

Prime e-gift has gift categories that cover services such as Occasions; Christmas, Special Celebrations, Events, Restaurants, Hotel, Transportation, Airline, Health, Fitness, Beauty, Spa, Movies and we are adding more everyday-to-meet customer demands.

Other features of the app include Re-gift:, which allows users to re-gift their e-gift card to another person; E-Fund, which enables one to put together a number of egift cards and send to friends to fund (buy).

“Merchants can take advantage of the marketing tools we have been put in place on the merchant dashboard to promote their gift cards.,” the company added.

“We also have the Give back Promo were the merchant can dedicate an amount to be donated to an organization as customers redeem their cards, Discount Promo, where merchants can have a discount promo on their cards for special occasions as well as Special Promo – spend your gift card and get something free for any occasion.

Most of all E-Gift cardholders will enjoy exclusive discounts and special offers when they use their E-Gift Card to shop at select merchants throughout the country (i.e. restaurants, retail stores, car rentals, hotels, tour destinations and entertainment centers).

The developers are confident the app offers enormous economic gains to Ghana because of the unique potential it wields, adding the country’s tourism sector provides a great platform to partner with institutions like the Ministry of Tourism to create attractive packages around the app.
