By: Face2face Africa

Feyisola is a young Nigerian woman committed to service to her community. She is an engineer by training, but maintains a very diverse portfolio of interests including event planning, non-profit work and community service.

Feyisola is an alumnus of the University of Pennsylvania where she majored in Computer Science Engineering and minored in Engineering Entrepreneurship. During those four years, she served as a leader in six different organizations, eventually becoming the president of two of them; The National Society of Black Engineers and the Engineering Student Activities Council. Through all of these activities, she found a deep desire to give back to her community and a passion for leading initiatives and creating new things.

Currently, Feyisola is a consultant at Accenture and a candidate for a certificate in Meeting, Conference and Event Planning from New York University. She is also the founder of Statuesque Events by Feyisola, and event management company. Feyisola is dedicated to the advancement of her community, so outside of work, she serves as the President of the NYC Alumni Chapter of NSBE, the Parliamentarian of the Region 1 Alumni Extension Board of NSBE, an Activities Coordinator at her church, CAC 1st in the Americas and is also serving as the set designer for the 2011 FACE List Awards. Feyisola is also a former pageant queen, Miss Nigerian Independence 2009-2010.

During her tenure, she put her faith in the power of education and entrepreneurship to work by creating the Miss Nigerian Independence Scholarship Ball and raising $1,500 in scholarships and over $700 in educational donations. The mission of this annual event, now known as the Afripreneurs of Tomorrow Scholarship Ball is to encourage our youth to create new opportunities in Africa and the diaspora which have a positive effect on the continent. She believes that eliminating the reliance on exports, taking pride in home grown companies and empowering our youth to build wealth at home will stimulate improvements in all of the areas that Africa need it most, especially as it relates to the economy and poverty.

Overall, Feyisola remains a very driven and involved woman, and always looks for opportunities to give back to Nigeria, Africa and members of the diaspora. For more information on Feyisola, visit www.feyisola.com.
