After coming out publicly in 2014 that he is gay, Kenyan author Binyavanga Wainaina has announced that he is getting married to his long-term partner early next year.
The 47-year-old author, who won the 2002 Caine Prize for African Writing for his short story Discovering Home disclosed his wedding announcement on Wednesday through social media.
Even though he mentioned that his partner is Nigerian, he is yet to disclose his name and other details.
The wedding will be held in South Africa but Binyavanga has promised his Kenyan fans of a grand wedding reception in Nairobi.
