Two days after the rescue of the first of 219 Chibok girls who were kidnapped by Boko Haram in 2o14, a second girl has been rescued, according to a BBC report.
The spokesperson for the Nigerian Army, Col Usman Sani Kukasheka said more information about the operation will be released at a later time.
On May 18, Face2face Africa reported that Amina Ali Darsha Nkeki, was the first girl to be rescued and was found in Kulakaisa area at the fringes of Sambisa Forest.
Amina, who was discovered with her 4-month-old baby, was rescued by vigilantes from Chibok who were on patrol.
According to sources, Amina confirmed to her rescuers that six of the abducted girls were dead and the rest were still in the Sambisa Forest.
On May 19th, Nigeria’s president Buhari met with Amina, and expressed his delight that the 19- year-old girl can now resume a normal life and have a shot at an education. He also added:
But my feelings are tinged with deep sadness at the horrors the young girl has had to go through at such an early stage in her life, he added.
