The youngest African female founder of an international college will give $1m to 120 African students

Caroline Esinam Adzogble, a 26-year-old Ghanaian entrepreneur, is receiving all the praise for not only being the youngest African and Ghanaian woman to run and own an accredited college but also for her decision to sponsor 120 African needy but brilliant students with a full scholarship to study in some international universities.

The founder of Potters International College launched the scholarship scheme through her Mercy Heart Foundation.

Known as the Caroline Excellence Awards, the scheme will award $1M worth of partial and full scholarships to 100 well deserving and brilliant but needy African students each year, local media reports.

Basically, the initiative will enable students with a good academic background but no funds the opportunity to further their education at the tertiary level.

Scholarships are open to final year Senior High School students and high school graduates only, and can be redeemed for Spring, Summer and Fall enrollment seasons each year.

Caroline Esinam Adzogble says she looks forward to increasing the number of scholarship awards and partners each year

For now, students from all African countries can apply though priority will be given to students based in Ghana, Kenya, Tanzania, Nigeria, Rwanda, Uganda, Togo, Senegal, Zimbabwe and Ethiopia.

Tuition Scholarships range from 20% – 100% and students will gain guaranteed admission to the following partner universities;

American University of Malta

Brunel University

National College of Ireland

Middlesex University

University of Nicosia

Webster University Ghana recently joined the awards scheme to give 20 scholarships, bringing the total number of beneficiaries for this year to 120.

Webster also becomes the first and only Ghanaian based university to join the Caroline Excellence Awards scheme for the 2018/19 phase.

“My ethos as an entrepreneur is to uplift Education within Africa and beyond and to make it the most affordable and accessible to all. This is a special moment for me and I am extremely humbled. This is a dream come through and I am thankful for the support of my Partners who have made this project possible, especially the American University of Malta which has been a phenomenal support system and a firm believer inequitable education for all across the globe. They have supported my work even before, we launched the Scholarship scheme.

“My only fulfilment comes from knowing that students who couldn’t get to school due to financial barriers will finally have the opportunity to go to school and pursue their dreams in the long run.

“I look forward to increasing the number of scholarship awards and partners each year to reach more deserving students as Education is a right and not a Privilege,” Adzogble said.

Applications will be open from now till December 20, and can only be submitted through the “Admission in 30minutes” App available on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store or through the scheme’s website.

On January 13, 2019, winners will be announced and Adzogble will begin a tour on January 21, 2019, to award all the recipients in their various countries.

Adzogble is also the founder of IAES Africa, an international recruitment service and the co-founder and president of Caroline University; Kwame A.A Opoku serves as the additional co-founder.

She was a business administration and computer science student when she founded and established an IT Training Institution in 2012 known as AITC.

At the time, she majored in courses such as database administration systems hardware and networking, software and web development.

To enable her to run the institution successfully, she decided to continue her education with an online university to help her balance her career life and not to be restricted by the bounds of attending on-campus schooling, according to her school, Potters International College’s website.

The self-described educationist, business coach, diversity maverick and women’s advocate is also the developer of Admission in 30 Minutes, Everyday Travels and Tours Caroline Technology Solutions, and the Mercy Heart Foundation.

She has many more ventures that are sister companies to Potters International College, which she runs successfully.

She boasts seven years of international consulting experience.
