The rankings of the Billboard Hot 100 started on August 4, 1958 and are published weekly by Billboard magazine since then.
The statistics for the chart’s rankings are based on radio play, sales (digital and physical) and online streaming in the United Sates.
The tracking week begins on Friday and ends on Thursday for sales and streaming, whereas for radio play, it runs Monday to Sunday. New charts are worked on and released by Billboard on Tuesdays.
Ever since the charts began, music from different genres coming from musicians like Whitney Houston, Jay-Z, Mariah Carey and Elton John have all set records on the charts.
Currently, Madonna tops the charts with 38 top 10s with Drake following keenly with 36 top 10s. Drake surpassed The Beatles by two hits for the second-most Top 10 hit in history in June 2019.
