TIME Magazine held its annual gala at the Lincoln Center in New York Tuesday night to celebrate this year’s most-influential people in the world as recently released by the magazine.

Ugandan Sister Rosemary Nyirumbe was honored for providing refuge and hope for women and girls whose lives have been shattered by violence, rape, and sexual exploitation.
Nigerian Finance Minister Ngonzi-Okonjo-Iweala was also honored for being a guardian of Nigerian public funds.
Nigerian business mogul Aliko Dangote was honored for his efforts to bridge the gap between private business and public health.
Also present at the TIME event were top African personalities, including Nigerian-American actress Uzo Aduba and Nollywood actress Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde who was named on the TIME 100 list last year.
