Super Fly
It is the third studio album by American soul musician Curtis Mayfield, released in July 1972 on Curtom Records. It was released as the soundtrack for the Blaxploitation film of the same name. With notable songs like “Pusherman,” “Freddie’s Dead,” and the title track, it was one of the rare soundtracks to earn more revenue than the film. For about four weeks, the album was at the top of the Billboard 200. In 1998, Super Fly was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame. The singles “Freddie’s Dead” and the title track both sold over two million copies.
