Woman stabbed ex-fiancé’s new girlfriend then pretended to be good Samaritan: police

A Connecticut orthodontist has been accused of stabbing her ex-fiancé’s new girlfriend in the neck in Westchester County and then pretending to be the hero when the police arrived. Alika Crew, 41, hid in the back of the victim’s car on Tuesday morning and then stabbed her while she was driving on Hillandale Drive in New Rochelle, police say.

“Upon arrival, officers located a 30-year-old female victim with a deep puncture wound to the left side of her neck,” New Rochelle Capt. Cosmo Costa said in a press release cited by New York Post.

“Also located at the scene was Alika Crew aged 41 of this city who was rendering medical aid to the victim and claimed to be a Good Samaritan.”

“The victim advised officers that the female rendering aid was in fact her assailant and that she had been stabbed.

“It was also determined that the suspect’s ex-fiancée is the current boyfriend of the victim,” the release said.

“We saw them tussling kind of where those bushes are, then I saw somebody get up and run away, and I thought, well, that kinda looks like my neighbor, but I didn’t think anything of it,” witness Denise Ward told CBS2.

Ward was captured by home surveillance video talking to the victim.

“What happened?” Ward asks.

“She cut me,” the victim says.

“She cut you?” Ward says.

“She cut me in my throat,” the victim says.

When Ward called 911 she was told someone else had already called.

“And I had the police on the phone and they’re like, ‘Oh OK, hold on. Oh yeah, no, we know about it, it’s a dog bite.’ And I said, ‘Well, I don’t… Alright.’ And she said, ‘Somebody else just called,’” Ward said.

After some time, the video shows the suspect, Crew, coming back to the scene as the victim starts screaming that she is the assailant.

“She’s a doctor, she’s a doctor,” Ward says.

“No, you’re not! Leave me alone! She’s lying, it’s her!” the victim says as she tries to walk away. Crew grabs her and when the cops showed up, she told them she was a bystander trying to help.

Crew, who is listed as a staff orthodontist on the website of the Stein Dental Group, has been charged with attempted murder and is being held on $250,000 bail.
