February 4 of every year is marked as World Cancer Day. Founded by the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC), the day is set aside to raise awareness about the disease and also highlight preventive as well as treatment measures.
According to UICC, World Cancer Day “aims to save millions of preventable deaths each year by raising awareness and education about cancer, and pressing governments and individuals across the world to take action against the disease.”
To mark the day, Face2Face Africa highlights 6 notable black celebrities who battled cancer and won.
