Sahle-Work Zewde
Sahle-Work was born on February 21, 1950, in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. She is the former Ambassador to Djibouti, former Permanent Representative to the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD), former Ambassador to France, and former Permanent Representative to UNESCO. She is the second female to hold an ambassadorial position in Ethiopia. She was elected the President of Ethiopia on October 25, 2018, after a unanimous decision by members of the Federal Parliamentary, making her the first woman to hold the position in the country.
