Poem: The Bride’s Groom

Every Sunday reminds me of Christ’s love, suffering, death, and resurrection. It’s beyond the regular routine, activities and rituals; it’s a conviction that has transformed so many lives as well as mine. It’s my faith, which is a function of God’s grace, and this is the very core of my conviction as stated in John 3:16; For God so Loved…That he Gave…And Who ever Believes…Will have eternal life.

As she walks down the aisle with a glow…
Sparkling as gold, white as snow…
Tears drip down her face…
As she remembers his amazing grace…
From captivity in the strong man’s house….
He delivered her to become His Spouse…..
Very unlikely would a slave rise the throne….
Rarely would a prostitute be given a garment of her own…
But she was handpicked, not because she was the best…
But His grace was made perfect in her weakness…
He made her, he knew her, but never imposed…
On a tree with a crown of thorns he proposed…
“Marry me and I’ll take away your gloom”…
“I’ll be your savior, your friend as well as your groom”…
He dismissed her accusers and picked her from the floor…
“Neither do I accuse you; go and sin no more”…
With tears she accepts his plea…
As he loosens her shackles she is set her free…
The bride price he paid to the very last…
Her sins and abominable acts are now in the past…
She stole, slandered, deceived, and killed…
But he cleansed, delivered, redeemed, and healed…
He said, “Ask and you’ll receive that your joy may be full”…
“You’re seated with me in high places and together we’ll rule”…
She’s His Precious Bride…
And He’s always by her Side.
