On Tuesday, U.S. R&B singer and songwriter Ne-Yo (pictured) confirmed suspicions that he is currently in Kenya recording what is being called a “mash-up album” with some of Africa’s top stars in a series of tweets.

Best known for his 2004 hit “Let Me Love You,” the Grammy Award-winning Ne-Yo tweeted the following:
Ne-Yo’s upcoming music with Uganda’s Maurice Kirya, Kenya’s Wangechi, Tanzania’s Alikiba, Mozambique’s Dama Do Bling, and Nigeria’s Ice Prince is happening as a part of #CokeStudioAfrica, which is a music television series sponsored by the soft drink company that features live studio-recorded performances by various artists.
Coke Studio, which is in its third season on the continent, also takes place in Pakistan, India, and the Middle East.
Ugandan music sensation and actor Kirya (pictured) also tweeted about the collaboration on Tuesday, writing:
In his official statement, Ne-Yo also said of the collaboration, “By creating this musical fusion through Coke Studio Africa, people of all races, ethnicities and religion will come together through this remarkable opportunity.”
