Drake shocks another fan with $139k Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon

It doesn’t seem rapper Drake is backing down anytime soon on his acts of generosity. The 36-year-old pop star surprised the audience at his homecoming concert in Toronto after he raffled off a luxury car to one lucky fan in the crowd.

For many entertainment enthusiasts, this tradition by Drake isn’t surprising. He is noted for giving lavish gifts to fans during his “It’s All a Blur Tour”, from designer bags to stash of cash. However, this time, Drake surprised everyone by changing his approach.

He departed from his usual fan gifting tradition by randomly selecting the recipient this time, as reported by Billboard. In a viral video posted by one of the fans, Drake said “This is what I’m gonna do. I’m gonna pick a winning ticket out of this drum here. I want everybody to be super quiet.”

He proceeded to dip his hand in a clear container filled with slips of paper and picked up the lucky receipt of the Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon. The crowd was ecstatic when he mentioned the winning seat, numbered 17483, which was located on the upper level of the venue.

The Mercedes-Benz website pegs the price of Drake’s gift, which is the base model G 550 SUV, at $139,900. This gesture comes barely a few weeks after he gifted a fan $50,000 during his Miami tour after he read the fan’s heartbroken sign saying “I spent all my savings buying tickets for me and my ex, but Honestly, Nevermind, it’s really Her Loss.”

“You know what? She’s gonna feel real f–ked up ’cause I’ma give you 50 bands, so you gon’ flex on her tonight,” Drake told the fan.

Drake has been making headlines with his acts of generosity, such as offering a honeymoon trip to a newlywed couple who skipped such an important moment of bonding to attend his show. He has however been taking some flak for his latest album, “For All The Dogs.” It sparked controversy due to lyrics that fans perceive as disses directed at his former flame, Rihanna, and her current partner, rapper A$AP Rocky.

In his song “Fear of Heights,” Drake repeatedly mentions the word “Anti,” which is the title of Rihanna’s 2016 Billboard 200 No. 1 album. He also goes on further to make veiled references to her home country, Barbados, and her honorary Parsons degree. He did not stop there but continued with an indirect jab at A$AP Rocky in the lyrics.
