Sepp Blatter has backed the GUBA Awards 2012. With three weeks to go before the Awards take place at the Park Plaza Riverbank on 10th November 2012 the FIFA President’s support has cemented the GUBA Awards.
“I am delighted to express my full support to the Ghana UK Based Achievement (GUBA) Awards, said Mr Sepp Blatter, President of The Fédération Internationale de Football Association (English: International Federation of Association Football), commonly known by the acronym FIFA.
As well as proudly celebrating its rich culture and traditions, GUBA provides an important platform which showcases the successes of great achievers, from the Ghanaian Diaspora, across the fields of business and commerce, the professional sector, sport and entertainment.”
The FIFA President’s endorsement is in good company with the Awards being endorsed by the former President of Ghana John Kuffor and both the British High Commissioner to Ghana, and the Ghanaian High Commissioner to Britain.
Upon this background where football has recently been rocked by racial incidents and protests, Mr Blatter’s support aids in the idea of a united game. What’s more, Anton Ferdinand has also supported the awards in 2011; presenting an award to then team mate Asamoah Gyan.
“May GUBA continue to excel in its objective of unearthing worthy talents and highlighting excellence and May GUBA 2012 be a splendid occasion,” said Sepp Blatter.
