Senegal en route to test everyone with homemade kits
DiaTropix, a new custom-built facility for epidemics-related innovation, in Dakar, Senegal, is manufacturing $1 test kits for the country’s inhabitants.
The facility is a partnership between the Senegalese and UK governments. The test kits deliver results on blood and saliva samples in about 10 minutes.
Senegal is now testing more people per capita than the United States. The country’s goal is to test all of its 16 million inhabitants.
