Authorities in Miami on Friday arrested a former substitute teacher accused of providing underage girls drugs in exchange for sexual favors and money. According to CBS Miami, police said 32-year-old Enreeka Nalasco provided the drugs to female students at Nautilus Middle School, and he lured his victims through social media.
Police also said the ages of the victims ranged from 11 to 14. Authorities got to know about Nalasco’s alleged acts after they found teen girls in possession of drugs and vape pens in late March. The students told investigators that Nalasco provided them with the drugs after he became friends with them on Snapchat. The female students also knew him as “Swaggy.”
The students also told police that Nalasco was open to receiving sexual favors as an alternative way of paying for the drugs he provided. The students added that the other drugs Nalasco sold to them included marijuana, marijuana cards, and nicotine, WPLG Local 10 reported.
And though Nalasco was unsuccessful in luring some of the girls, authorities said he sexually battered at least one 12-year-old student. Another student also sent him nude photos. And on another occasion, Nalasco allegedly recorded himself masturbating and sent the video to a different student.
The suspect’s arrest report stated that he was fired from his substitute teaching job at Miami Beach Senior High in 2018 after an internal investigation determined he inappropriately got in touch with students through social media.
Nalasco faces a slew of charges including human trafficking, using a computer to travel to meet a minor, unlawful use of a communications device, prohibited computer services involving a child, contributing to the delinquency of a child, providing nicotine to someone under 21 and selling nicotine to minors.
He is being held without bond. In a statement, the Miami-Dade County Public Schools (M-DCPS) said it was “deeply disturbed by the troubling allegations made against this former employee.”
“This individual has not been employed with M-DCPS since 2018 and is precluded from seeking future employment with this District,” the statement added.
