General Manager of the Toronto Raptors, Masai Ujiri last week hosted a star studded benefit in Toronto in honor of Nelson Mandela on the one year anniversary of his death. In attendance were sports icons including Magic Johnson, Charles Barkley, Dikembe Mutombo, and more. The event was hosted by Face2face Africa’s Sandra Appiah.
Like all the stars in attendance, Toronto Maple Leaf Goalie Jonathan Bernie was interviewed on the carpet and asked to reflect on his knowledge and experience of Nelson Mandela. Evidently clueless as to who Mandela is, Bernie responds by saying Mandela is “one of the most known athletes in the world.”
