Kwasi Enin (pictured), a high school senior who lives in Long Island, N.Y., has achieved the impressive feat of getting accepted to all eight of the Ivy League schools he applied to. Enin, the son of Ghanaian immigrants, had only hoped to get in to one of the storied institutions when he began his ambitious college application process.

Born to Ebenezer and Doreen Enin, who came to New York in the 1980s to complete their studies as nurses, Kwasi, who also has a younger sister, Adwoa, was indeed accepted in to all eight Ivy League universities, which includes Brown University, Columbia University, Cornell University, Dartmouth College, Harvard University, Princeton University, the University of Pennsylvania, and Yale University.
According to a USA Today report, not only did the Ivy League schools universally accept 17-year-old Enin, he also applied to all three of the State University of New York campuses and Duke University – all of which also accepted his applications.
Enin says he got the idea to apply to all of the schools when he was a sophomore in high school, figuring that at least one of them would give him an opportunity. Clearly prepared, Enin also seems to have his plans for study mapped out as well.
“I’m thinking of being a cardiologist or neurologist,” said Enin in a New York Daily News report. “A doctor is a community leader, a protector, someone who people turn to…when they need help.”
Enin attends William Floyd High School, a public school on Long Island’s south shore. Out of the student body, he is ranked 11 out of a total class of 647, thus placing him in the top 2 percent of his group.
Enin’s SAT score of 2,250 out of 2,400 points places him in the 99th percentile for African-American students.
Enin is also a violist and sings in an a capella group at his high school and plans to pursue both medicine and music. So far, Enin said that Princeton has offered the most-generous financial package thus far, but because of his formidable standing, it appears the other schools will sweeten their deals to attract him to their campus.
Congratulations to Kwasi Enin!
